Welcome to Member Tips

This is a companion site to our main Caston Camera Club web site.  The club, formed as recently as November 2006, is already, probably the most popular club in Norfolk, which is quite remarkable as Caston is no more than a very small Norfolk agricultural village situated three miles south of Watton off the A1075 but members come from far and wide.  We'd like to think the reason for our success is due to our willingness to look after our members and wherever possible give some 'added value' to the membership and hopefully that's exactly what this site will do.  We really do give our members so much more than other clubs.

This site has been set up as a knowledge store for club members.  The pages are password protected and contain tips on all manner of things.  While some of the articles will have been written by committee members we actively ask anyone within the club who has a tip that they would like to pass on to simply forward an email covering the subject matter to the email address at the top of this page and we will be in touch regarding its entry on this site.

If as a member you would like access to the contents of this site just complete information on the Password Request page and access will be granted.

Since the site was first conceived we have not only added to it on a regular basis with tutorials but now we have our own video content as well.  Here is some of the content to be found:

What you'll find when you log in will be different according to the page being read.  Quite often you'll find key-stroke by key-stroke tutorials with lots of graphics to illustrate the points being made.  These will make following the tutorial very easy indeed.  What's more, these tutorials will always be here in the one place for you to be able to find and refer to whenever you need them.

New to the site however are our very own videos, made by us to cover those points that members are always asking about.  What could be easier than watching it happen on your own screen and then being able to open your own software and copy the procedure shown in the video.

Just finally, there are three points well worth making:

  1. if you have a tutorial that you feel would help other members, and you are happy to share it - after all that's what a club is all about - then whether it's suitable for beginners or those more advanced, do write in and let's get it published.
  2. Even more importantly, if there's something you would like information on, then again let us know and we'll get someone to either write the tutorial and we'll publish it right here or we'll make a video for all to see and understand - no matter how simple your question, do ask!
  3. When you Log-In a number of new pages will be revealed but the important one to read first is the one headed READ THIS FIRST - obvious really!!
